About the Group

The Alger Group was established at UCLA in 1994, when Dr. Alger was recruited from his post at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke by the UCLA Department Radiological Sciences. The group moved into the new UCLA Ahmanson-Lovelace Brain Mapping Center in 1998.

Mission of Alger Group
To implement novel quantitative magnetic resonance imaging technologies and then evaluate whether these technologies provide biomarkers of neurological diseases and disorders that can be used in clinical translational research and clinical trials.
